Jefferson Notary Group provides professional mobile notary, general notary, Remote Online Notarization (RON), and real-estate/loan signing services. Mobile appointments are available throughout our service area, and RON services may allow eligible documents to be notarized remotely.
-
Yes. Jefferson Notary Group offers mobile notary services and can travel to homes, businesses, and other agreed locations. Travel/service pricing is based on distance: 0–10 miles: $25; 11–20 miles: $40; 21–30 miles: $55; 31–40 miles: $75; 40+ miles: custom quote. Notarial fees are calculated separately.
-
The total depends on the number of notarial acts, appointment location, and whether rush or after-hours service applies. For mobile appointments, Jefferson Notary Group provides an itemized quote showing the notarial fee separately from applicable travel/service charges. For a quote, please provide your location or ZIP code, number of signers, approximate number of notarizations needed, and requested appointment date and time.
-
Standard business hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; Saturday, 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.; and Sunday by appointment only. Appointments outside normal business hours may be available for an additional $25 after-hours service fee. Sunday appointments automatically include the $25 after-hours fee.
-
Same-day appointments may be available depending on the schedule. Appointments requested with less than four hours' notice are considered rush appointments and include a $50 rush service fee. Availability can be checked once we have your preferred time and location.
-
After-hours appointments may be available. Appointments outside Jefferson Notary Group's standard business hours include a $25 after-hours service fee. If the appointment is also requested with less than four hours' notice, the $50 rush fee also applies. Please provide your location and preferred time so availability and an itemized quote can be determined.

Jefferson Notary Group accepts cash, credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Zelle, Cash App, Venmo, and PayPal.

Please have an acceptable form of identification available when identification is required for your notarization. If you tell us what form of identification you have, we can provide general appointment-preparation information. The notary will make the final determination regarding whether the identification satisfies the requirements for the notarization.
-
An expired identification document may require additional review depending on the circumstances and applicable identification requirements. We can collect the details before your appointment so the notary can determine whether your available identification is sufficient.
-
Jefferson Notary Group can explain the general difference between common notarial acts, but the notary cannot select the required notarial act on your behalf. If your document does not specify the required notarization, please contact the person or organization that prepared or will receive the document for instructions. Once the required act is identified, we can assist if all applicable requirements are satisfied.
-
Please wait to sign if your document or requested notarial act requires the signature to occur in the notary's presence. If you are unsure, it is safest to leave the signature blank until your appointment unless you have received specific instructions otherwise.
-
Jefferson Notary Group can complete the portions of the notarial certificate that the notary is responsible for completing, but we generally cannot complete substantive document information or provide legal advice about what you should enter. For questions about the document's contents, contact the issuing or receiving organization or an appropriate professional.
-
Witness requirements depend on the document and applicable requirements. If your document specifies witnesses, please let Jefferson Notary Group know when scheduling and confirm whether arrangements have been made. If you are unsure whether witnesses are required, contact the organization or professional that provided or will receive the document.
-
Jefferson Notary Group does not currently offer witness-provision services as a standard service. If witnesses are required, please arrange for the necessary witnesses before the appointment unless other arrangements have specifically been approved.
-
Jefferson Notary Group can assist with notarization of documents such as powers of attorney when the requested notarial act can lawfully be performed and all requirements are satisfied. The notary cannot prepare the document or advise you about what the power of attorney should contain.
-
Yes. Jefferson Notary Group may provide mobile notary appointments at hospitals, assisted-living communities, rehabilitation centers, and similar facilities. We will collect the facility, room or unit, contact information, identification availability, and witness arrangements. The signer must be able to participate directly, and completion remains subject to the notary's assessment.
-
Notarization requires the notary to satisfy applicable requirements regarding the signer and the requested notarial act. Because these situations depend on individual circumstances, Jefferson Notary Group will need additional information before determining whether an appointment can proceed. This request will be referred for personal review.
-
Signing on behalf of another person can involve specific legal and notarial requirements. Jefferson Notary Group will need to review the circumstances before determining whether we can assist. This request will be referred for personal review.
-
Yes. Jefferson Notary Group offers Remote Online Notarization for eligible transactions. RON allows the signer and notary to meet remotely through an approved online process with audio/video communication and required identity verification. Availability depends on the document, signer location, and applicable requirements.
-
A Remote Online Notarization must use a process that satisfies applicable RON requirements. A normal FaceTime or Zoom call by itself is not a substitute for the required process. Jefferson Notary Group will provide the appropriate session instructions for an approved RON appointment.
-
Remote Online Notarization may allow Jefferson Notary Group to serve remotely located signers outside Illinois in qualifying circumstances. Because requirements can depend on the signer's location, document, and transaction, we will collect those details before confirming the appointment.
-
Appointments canceled more than four hours before the scheduled time do not have a cancellation charge. For cancellations made less than four hours before the appointment, applicable service charges may apply. If travel has already begun or the notary has arrived, the applicable mobile travel/service charge may remain due.
-
Whether a notarization can be completed is determined at the appointment based on the document, signer, identification, and applicable requirements. If a notarial act cannot be completed, notarial fees are handled according to the acts actually performed. Applicable mobile travel/service charges may still remain due because the mobile service was provided.
-
No. Jefferson Notary Group will not falsify or backdate a notarization. The notarial certificate must accurately reflect the notarization performed.
-
The required personal appearance must be satisfied for the notarization being performed. Jefferson Notary Group will not simply notarize a signature for an absent signer outside a legally authorized process. If you are asking about Remote Online Notarization, we can explain how an eligible remote appointment works.
-
Jefferson Notary Group must follow the applicable identification and notarial requirements for each transaction. Required safeguards cannot be skipped for convenience. If there is an identification issue, please explain what identification is available so the situation can be reviewed.
